Solid Points Haul For Daniel McCoy At Murray Bridge

p>Daniel McCoy is climbing the points ladder

Rockstar Motul Suzuki's Daniel McCoy has moved up to fourth place in the Pro Lites class of the 2011 Australian National Motocross Championship after a consistent four motos at the fourth round of the Championship at Murray Bridge, South Australia.

McCoy muscled his fuel-injected RM-Z250 around a rough and tough track that deteriorated as the day progressed, which showed why he is one of the most consistent riders on the gate with a 6-7-7-7 result.

McCoy's fifth place moves him up to fourth place overall in the Championship and he is now just eight points off Brenden Harrison in third place.

In the Pro Open class, Rockstar Motul Suzuki's Cody Cooper returned from a rib injury he sustained at the second round of the Championship.

Suffering from lack of time on the bike Cooper put in a solid performance over the first two motos but his injury affected his moto three and four results.

Cooper finished with a 7-10-21-DNF result, resulting in a 13th place overall on the day and 13th place in the Championship.

Jay Foreman - Team Rockstar Motul Suzuki Team Manager

"Daniel showed how professional he is out there today. He rode really consistent which is why he is where he is in the Championship. We will continue to work on Daniel's starts so he gets the jump on his rivals.

"Cody gave it his best shot this weekend. It was always a big ask to come back four weeks after breaking ribs and collapsing a lung, but we know how tough Cody is and nothing would have kept him off the bike this weekend.

"We have a weekend off now so another two week break will only help Cody in his recovery.

"Cody holeshot two races so his starts were good, his speed was okay, we just need to get him back to riding without pain from the injury."

The series will now move to Toowoomba in Queensland for round five on May 22.
