Toby Price sweeps rounds three and four of 2011 Yamaha AORC

Toby Price - KTM

KTM’s Toby Price has stormed through round four of the 2011 Yamaha Australian Off Road Championship, dominating in the action-packed Sprint format to take the day’s outright victory ahead of Yamaha’s Matt Phillips and his teammate – former World Champ, Stefan Merriman.

Price dropped three of the day’s six sprint races to Phillips however his times were enough to earn him outright victory for the day.

In a massive and gruelling weekend of racing, nearly 270 competitors faced a tough slog out on the track with the sun finally shining through on Sunday.

In the E1 Class, Merriman was the man to beat, finishing the day ahead of KTM’s Ben Grabham, with Yamaha’s Kirk Hutton taking the final step on the podium.

In the E2 class, Price took line honours, ahead of Yamaha’s Chris Hollis, while Husqvarna’s Glenn Kearney secured himself third place.

Phillips’ solid efforts in the E3 class, earned him bragging rights for the fourth round, in addition to placing second outright on the day to Price, not bad for the Tasmanian in his first full season of Off Road Racing!

The Yamaha young-gun took out the E3 class ahead of KTM’s Jarrod Bewley and Husaberg-mounted Geoff Braico.

In the Masters Class it was repeat of round three with Yamaha’s Geoff Ballard taking line honours with Trent Lean (Suzuki) and David Cash (Yamaha) rounding out the top three.

Damien Smith again took line honours in the Veterans class, with Garry Dukes in second place and Mark Buchanan wrapping up the top three.

Sweden’s Emelie Karlson (Yamaha) took out the Women’s class with fellow Yamaha riders Jemma Wilson and Jess Gardiner taking the remaining places on the podium, while Mitch Kellner, Jack Simpson, Scott Sowry and Brendon Walther all topped their respective classes in the Junior ranks.
