Alan Cathcart to ride Irving Vincent’s at the HBBB

Motorcycling Australia (MA) is pleased to announce that British journalist Alan Cathcart is heading to Australia to appear at the 2010 Honda Broadford Bike Bonanza (HBBB) over the Easter weekend on 3-4 April.

Cathcart’s attendance will help to establish the event internationally, as he currently syndicates his work in more than 70 magazines all around the World.

A former top-line competitor in Historic Racing, with a fourth place at the Isle of Man to his credit, Cathcart nowadays limits his racing to once a year, at the Goodwood Revival, but regularly appears in non-competitive events such as the HBBB.

At the HBBB, Cathcart will demonstrate several examples of the Melbourne-built Irving Vincents that currently dominate local Period 5 Historic events.

Ken Horner, who built the bikes along with his brother Barry, is returning to Daytona in USA prior to Easter, where Sydney’s Craig McMartin will race an Irving Vincent in the prestigious Speed Week, before it is then air freighted home in time to appear at the HBBB.

The HBBB will also feature demonstrations by US Motocross Champion Gary Jones, Enduro and Motocross star Pelle Granquist, former Australian Road Racing Champion Warren Willing, and Honda’s first Australian Motocross Champion Brian Martin amongst others.

Motorcycling history on show at the 2010 HBBB

Motorcycling Australia (MA) will be holding the second annual Honda Broadford Bike Bonanza (HBBB) on Easter weekend, 3-4 April 2010, and you are invited to join in and get involved in the historic festivities.

Now into its second year, the HBBB - initiated as a venture of MA’s Museum & Heritage Committee – is intended as a non-competitive celebration of motorcycling covering all disciplines.

The 2010 HBBB will again be staged at the State Motorcycle Complex in Broadford, Victoria, and aims to provide two full days of activity which includes on-track riding for motorcycles of all eras, as well as a plethora of off-track activities.

If you are aware or any riders or bikes that belong at the 2010 HBBB, or if you have an interest in running a trade/club display or would like to exhibit memorabilia at the Veteran’s Cafe, now is the time to make contact with event organisers and let them know.

One of the popular attractions at the inaugural HBBB in Easter 2009 was the Swap Meet, and due to popular demand this will now take place over both the Saturday and Sunday throughout the 2010 event.

More information about the 2010 HBBB can be found by contacting Event Organiser Peter Drakeford by emailing: peter@ma.org.au or by phoning: 0422 299 003
